Kindergarten Program: Bright Futures

The Kindergarten Program is a full day program involving the development in teaching the young child the skills of an intense systematic phonics program to read through repetition, and review. New learning gradually builds on old learning and practice consistent systems reinforcing both. In this way, your child will experience success every day. School work and assessments, as well as evening activity sheets will be sent home for your child to review.

 

During the year, the Kindergarten student participates in a wide variety of mathematic activities. Your child will learn through hand-on experiences, discussions, and explorations. This is an enrichment program for half- day and childremiss the school year calendar for enrollment into the school district programs .

The objectives encompass:

 

  • Number, Operation and Quantitative reasoning

  • Patterns, Relationships and Algebraic Thinking

  • Geometry

  • Measurement

  • Probability and Sequencing

  • Mathematical Tools

  • Sight word recognition and Phonemic development

 

The teacher also uses additional resources to enhance the program.

  • 8:30-8:40 Arrival

  • 8:40-9:00 A.M. Open area

  • 9:00-9:15 Snack

  • 9:15-10:30 Group time- Phonics, Reading group exploration

  • 10:30-11:00 MWF Spanish Tu, Th : Writing, Spelling

  • 11:00-12:00 Math

  • 12:00-12:15 Independent activity/Reading time

  • 12:15-12:45 Lunch

  • 12:45-1:00 Read

  • 1:00-3:00 MWF Health/PE or Tues: Music class

    • R& R /Recess

    • Social Studies/Science

  • 3:00-3:15 Ready for home/dismissal Afterschool Schoolage program begins

Daylight Centers are controlled and monitored by security systems throughout each of the facilities.

The hours of operation vary per- center, Mon- Fri- Hillside IL: 6:00 am – 6:30 pm , Northlake and Carol Stream, IL: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm
